'March for Gaza' in Dhaka on Saturday

A 'March for Gaza' is going to be held in the capital Dhaka on Saturday, April 12, to protest the ongoing genocide in Gaza. The event will include a procession from Shahbagh to Manik Mia Avenue, which is being organized by an organization called 'Palestine Solidarity Movement Bangladesh'

Organizers say this is going to be the largest public rally for Palestine on the streets of Dhaka. Everyone, regardless of party or opinion, is invited to participate.

The organization shared information about the event on its Facebook page on Monday. It said the program would begin at 3 p.m. on Saturday. As of 11:30 p.m. on Monday, more than 64,000 people had expressed interest in the event and nearly 5,000 had said they would participate.

The organization's Facebook page is posting supportive video messages from scholars, celebrities and dignitaries surrounding the rally. Among those who have posted videos so far are Daily Amar Desh Editor Mahmudur Rahman, national team cricketer Mahmudullah Riyad, Mehedi Hasan Miraj, Nahid Rana, Taijul Islam, Islamic speaker Mizanur Rahman Azhari, As-Sunnah Foundation Chairman Shaikh Ahmadullah, AB Party Chairman Mujibur Rahman Manju, Khilafat Majlis Amir Maulana Mamunul Haque, Ulama Mashayek Aima Parishad General Secretary Rezaul Karim Abrar, NCP's southern chief organizer Hasnat Abdullah, Islami Chhatra Shibir Central President Zahidul Islam and Publications Editor Abu Sadiq Kayem, actor Tamim Mridha and Ten Minute School founder Ayman Sadiq.

NCP leader Hasnat Abdullah has released a video message of 14 people, including himself, on his Facebook page. There he wrote, "Next Saturday (April 12), the biggest march for Palestine will take place on the streets of Dhaka. From Shahbagh to Manik Mia Avenue, slogans and processions will turn into a riot." 

Meanwhile, Shaykh Ahmadullah, Mizanur Rahman Azhari and Mahmudullah Riyad have also promoted the program on their respective Facebook pages. Azhari said in a video message, "This march will end on April 12 from Shahbagh to Manik Mia Avenue. God willing, I will be present in person at this protest rally. You too should join in groups."

A photocard has also been published from the Palestine Solidarity Movement Bangladesh page, which mentions that 
BNP Standing Committee member Salah Uddin Ahmed will be present at the March for Gaza and has called on everyone to participate.
